Happy New Year from the crew at CACN!
It’s very much new year and new beginnings for Cumbria Arts and Culture Network. Having been hosted for the last 4 years by Cumbria CVS and then Cumbria Local Enterprise Partnership, we’re pleased to say we’ve now branched out and established the Network as a not-for-profit Company Limited by Guarantee. That means we’re now operating independently – standing firmly on our own two feet! We’re grateful to CLEP and Cumbria CVS for their support in getting us this far. Now we’re focussing on connecting the culture sector across Cumbria, especially through and beyond this year’s local government reorganisation.
Alongside myself (Kate Parry), the people who have kindly stepped up to be our voluntary company directors are Richard Foster, Liz Stevenson, Maddi Nicholson and Stefan Escreet (all members of the CACN Steering Group). We five will remain on the Steering Group, managing the Network, along with Loren Slater, Dan Whitehouse and Andrew Deakin. Meantime, our day-to-day activity will be run as ever by Amy Story, Tom Speight and Chris Bridgman – our part-time freelance producers.
We have plans to develop our wonderful Network this year, both in the way that it is managed and governed, and in the support and activity we offer you. So please stay tuned to hear more.
With thanks for your continued support,
Kate Parry, Chair.
