Public Relations (PR) – it’s all about how you communicate with the wider world, get people interested in what you’re doing – and get them to pay for it…
This training will cover:
- PR basics (listings, press releases, contacts, media landscape at the moment)
- Social media – best practice (including caution about AI!)
- Marketing yourself or your organisation - how to get new clients
An interactive session with a chance for you to pose your questions.
Who’s it for?
Creative freelancers, and those running small and micro cultural organisations who want to raise their profile and cut through to a wider audience.
Trainer: DICKIE FELTON has worked in communications for 25 years including as comms manager at National Museums Liverpool; Keep Britain Tidy (spokesperson on glamourous things like flytipping and dog dirt!); the National Football Museum. Largely freelance for the last ten years, with clients ranging from museums to live music to the National Rural Touring Forum. Before going into PR Dickie was a journalist on the Liverpool Echo and still likes to write when he has the time.
The session will take place on Zoom and will include a short break.
