Fast Track to Sustainable Freelancing

Cumbria Arts & Culture Network is delighted to offer this 4-session course on Fast Track to Sustainable Freelancing with Alison Grade. The sessions are free, online and is open to anyone living in Cumbria and working within the creative, cultural and heritage sectors.

Freelancing is much more than being good at working ‘in’ the work you want do – you need to also work ‘on’ your freelancing. In this workshop you’ll learn from author of The Freelance Bible, Alison Grade, how to work ‘on’ your freelancing. and prepare yourself so you are best positioned to find the work you want to do.

This workshop is essential for anyone looking to work in the creative and cultural industries. A recent Creative Industries Federation report on freelancing showed that 47% of work in the creative industries is freelance. It’s highly likely that graduates will need to be ready to work as freelancers if not by design, then by necessity – whether it be traditional self-employment or short-fixed contract work, either way these graduates will need to think like freelancers.

The course takes place on the following dates:

• Session 4: Wed Oct 12, 2022 06:30-08:30 PM

**Please note that this course is only available to residents of Cumbria. If you don’t live in Cumbria you won’t be eligible to attend.

This course is open to creative freelancers or those looking to become freelance. Job roles could include: artist, maker, designer, graphic designer, web designer, writer, copy writer, games designer, musician, theatre, film-making.
