The Essentials of Fundraising

Who’s it for?

This half-day online session (which will include breaks) is designed for those who are new to applying to funding, or who have found themselves responsible for writing funding bids despite it not being their main interest!

By the end of the session you will:

• understand the types of funders out there and how they work
• know how to research possible funders and find the ones that are worth applying to
• understand how to appeal to funders, speak their language and increase your chances of success

Who’s the trainer?

Lizzie Poulton: Lizzie has worked in the charity sector for over 15 years for a range of literacy, arts and children’s charities as a Project Manager, Fundraiser and CEO.

Since 2023 she has been working in a freelance capacity, supporting social and arts organisation with their fundraising, project planning and organisational development. In this time, she has secured over £300,000 with her clients, from funders including the National Lottery, regional community foundations and small grant giving trusts.
