Maryport’s Shipping Brow Gallery is looking for new volunteers to join their team for 2.5+ hours per week. If you are based in West Cumbria and looking to gain experience in a gallery then this could be for you!
The Shipping Brow Gallery is a charity gallery run by a team of volunteers who welcome visitors, have conversations about our collections and exhibitions and more. We house the world’s largest permanent collection of work by West Cumbrian icon Percy Kelly and maritime artist William Mitchell. Our ground floor space hosts a range of local artists in solo and group exhibitions, changing over on a monthly basis.
We are looking for adults (18+) who have an interest in the arts, no previous experience necessary! There is scope to get involved in areas that interest you: this could be events, social media or helping to get the word out about our gallery. We are open Wednesday-Sunday, 11-4pm so some shifts may be ideal to fit around studies or work to gain some experience in the arts and culture/ voluntary/ charity sector.
If you would like to find out more, please get in touch via email at admin@shippingbrowgallery.co.uk or visit us during opening hours (Wednesday-Sunday, 11-4pm). Application forms are available at our front desk. We look forward to hearing from you!
