The Opportunity
Everyone Here is seeking an artist or creative practitioner to work with local people to develop and create a permanent artwork for Whitehaven Community Garden, located within the grounds of Whitehaven Amateur Football Club.
This commission has been developed by a small group of Jury for Joy members, Everyone Here’s long term citizens’ jury. Local members have identified a desire to create a beautiful, welcoming and accessible piece of community-led art that can be enjoyed by people who may not typically engage with arts and cultural activity.
The final work should respond creatively to the location, its community and the history and character of Whitehaven, the jury members have listed a number of ideas to be used as a starting point for the artist.
The Football Club will support the project and work with Everyone Here to ensure the artwork can be permanently installed and maintained within the grounds.
