CACN is launching a mentoring programme, offering tailored one-to-one support to young people (18 – 30) working in the creative and heritage sectors.

The scheme is open to everyone from artists to technicians, from curators to administrators, and is designed to create focus and develop effective strategies as young professionals grow their careers.

There are six places available, and the selected mentees will each be carefully matched to a mentor who can provide insight into their chosen area of work, help clarify and focus their ambitions and guide them in creating plans to advance their work – and to achieve a healthy work/life balance.

Starting with a gathering of all mentors and mentees on Sat. 15th November, the scheme will run for about 6 months, and is totally free for the mentees. Support for travel expenses is also available.

Full details are available here.

And the deadline for applications is Monday 13 October.

The scheme is part of the extensive See It To Be It project, which aims to support and develop opportunities for young people in Cumbria’s cultural sector.
