Tullie Trainees is…
A programme of fixed-term, part-time, entry-level roles that may be suitable for young people, students or recent graduates interested in roles within the arts, culture or creative sectors. It is supported by the National Lottery Heritage Fund and we’ll be working with our friends at See It To Be It to make sure word is spread far and wide!
What we’re offering…
From 2025-29, we will offer 10 paid traineeships with host departments across the organisation to raise aspirations, skills and knowledge, as well as providing genuine input into governance and decision-making processes at Tullie.

Exhibitions
Wanted: an organised, practical and enthusiastic team player who wants hands-on experience helping deliver temporary exhibitions at Tullie. As part of this role you will:
- Help the team prepare the gallery, install and deinstall temporary exhibitions in the art gallery.
- Assist with the safe movement, handling and placement of objects, some condition checking, displays and exhibition materials, learning museum standards as you go.
- Support with research of exhibition material ready for sharing as visitor interpretation – both written and digital.
- Learn about gallery maintenance, health and safety, security and technical systems that support temporary exhibitions.
- Help as needed across exhibitions, events and visitor-facing activity, and carry out other duties appropriate to the role.
Young People and Communities
Wanted: an enthusiastic people person who wants to build up their experience and skills in helping deliver creative cultural activity with young people, vulnerable adults and the local community. As part of this role you will:
- Be a champion for Tullie and help make everyone welcome.
- Help create friendly, safe spaces and ways for people to engage with the museum.
- Help to attract diverse audiences to Tullie and making sure they have a great experience.
- Help to plan activities for groups and deliver them in different spaces.
- Help co-create displays and programmes, using the museum collections to tell different stories and help people share their stories.
- Help shout about events and encourage individuals and groups to attend.
- Assist to evaluate events and activities so Tullie can keep improving.
